Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

1.1 Clarity and Simplicity

At DeJoy, we value your privacy. Our goal is to make the privacy policy easy to understand by using clear language to explain how we handle your data. We will continuously improve this policy and welcome your feedback to further refine our practices.

When we refer to "DeJoy," "our application," "we," or "us," we mean DeJoy and its subsidiaries and partners. DeJoy operates a social platform accessible via https://dejoy.io based on a consumer-grade decentralized universal blockchain network and related services.

1.2 Purpose of this Policy

This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use DeJoy's services, including:

Users of the DeJoy social platform.
Customers who create and manage their own communities (Spaces/Rooms).

This policy does not cover:

Your interactions with external servers or services.
Third-party identity services you may use with DeJoy.

1.3 Your Role

If you use DeJoy's paid services or features, you are considered a "Customer." If you use DeJoy to connect with others or engage with content, you are considered a "User." You may be both a Customer and a User, but we handle these roles separately for data protection purposes.

1.4 Updates to this Policy

We may periodically update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated to you in advance. Your continued use of DeJoy after such changes indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.

2. Accessing Your Data

2.1 Legal Basis for Data Processing

Depending on your use of our services, DeJoy processes your data based on various legal grounds, including applicable privacy regulations (such as GDPR):

For Users: We collect IP addresses to ensure our services run smoothly and to prevent abuse, based on our legitimate interests.
For Customers: We process data to fulfill contractual obligations and effectively manage the service.

2.2 Your Data Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights:

The right to be informed about how your data is used.
The right to decrypt and access your data.
The right to correct or delete your data.
The right to restrict or object to processing.
The right to data portability.

For more details, please consult relevant data protection authorities.

2.3 End-to-End Encrypted Data

The chat messages, media, files, call content, and locally stored data you use on DeJoy are processed only on your device and the recipient's device. Before this data reaches our service relay node servers, it is encrypted using keys known only to you and the recipient. Although the servers handle this end-to-end encrypted data to deliver it to the recipient, we cannot decrypt the actual content. In this case, we neither store nor process your personal data; instead, we store and process random symbol sequences that are meaningless without the key.

2.5 Data Sharing

To comply with legal obligations.
To protect the security and integrity of our services.
To respond to emergencies.

DeJoy promotes free and equal social interaction, and we encourage you to resolve related issues independently.

You and authorized DeJoy staff can access data related to your authorized home server and unique user identity recognition server under strict conditions.

2.10 Data Access Guidelines

Access to your data is restricted to personnel who require it for service maintenance and have your authorization. We do not share this data with other parties.

2.11 Third-Party Access

We use third-party services, such as AWS and Cloudflare. These providers may access some data but adhere to strict privacy policies. We recommend that these service providers follow the same data protection standards.

2.12 Business Transfers

If DeJoy is sold or acquires new assets, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction, but we will always ensure that data remains in an end-to-end encrypted state and protect your privacy and data security throughout any information transfer.
